Montgomery County Public Health Emergency Grant (PHEG)

The Montgomery County Public Health Emergency Grant program is designed to provide financial assistance to Montgomery County for-profit businesses (including sole proprietorships and independent contractors) and nonprofit organizations that have experienced significant financial loss caused directly or indirectly by a public health emergency. Local businesses may be eligible for grants of up to $75,000.

 
 
 

Your business qualifies to apply if:

• You are a for-profit or non-profit entity and ANY of the below is true: • Is physically located only in Montgomery County, MD; or • Has locations outside of the County, and the County-based location(s) account for more than 50 percent of the business’s total number of (full-time-equivalent) employees; or • Has more than 50 percent of the business’s gross sales in Montgomery County\ You must also: • Employ 100 or fewer full-time-equivalent employees (including sole proprietors and businesses with no employees); and • Has incurred financial losses caused directly or indirectly by the Covid-19 public health emergency.

Eligible businesses will enter into an agreement with Montgomery County that stipulates: • The County’s right to audit financial records of the grantee • Reporting requirements • The applicant’s obligation to return to the County any unused or improperly used funds • That the grant recipient certifies, under penalty of perjury, that the grant application and all documentation and statements in support of eligibility for funds are true and correct, and that the applicant understands that they may be prosecuted for any false statements made as part of the application.
